Learn How to Make Your Home More Energy Efficient and Healthy

A Trained Energy Efficiency Technician will meet with you on-on-one at your residence to help assess the energy conditions there.
Based upon these findings an "Energy Action Plan" specific to your home and situation will be created. Recommendations will focus on reducing electricity and heating fuel use.
EECO Homes will then assist you to execute this plan by providing you with Direct Installation of key energy efficiency measures as well as access to certified contractors to provide additional assistance.

An LI Green representative will contact you to schedule your one-on-one home meeting.
A trained energy efficiency professional will meet with you at your home. Please allocate about 1 1/2 hours for this visit. During this consultation meeting, key aspects of your house will be reviewed to determine the level of concern that exists. All of the information that we collect will be entered into a next generation wireless handheld computer system and automatically delivered to an Internet based database and reporting system.
EECO Homes will provide you with an individualized “Energy Action Plan” specific to the your family's needs. We will then work with you to provide the technical resources necessary to deliver this plan. Experience has shown that many families will initially opt for the immediate delivery of low cost, high impact energy efficiency measures. These measures include incandescent lamp replacement, installation of programmable thermostats, installation of reduced flow showerheads and faucets, weather-stripping, window caulking, attic hatch insulation, high hat lamp trim replacement, pipe insulation, duct sealing, HVAC equipment tune-ups and others. Work orders will be communicated electronically to certified contractors that will provide these home improvements or you can make these home improvements yourself to save even more money. These initial energy efficiency measures will save between 10% and 15% of the energy consumed in your home and should payback in less than two years.
At the same time we'll work with you to provide “Deeper Dive” energy efficiency measures that can save even more energy as well as renewable energy sources such as solar and geothermal if appropriate. Financing may be available through utility, government or local credit unions for these home improvements and you may also be eligible for rebates, tax credits and other incentives.
Integral to the project are strict procedures to ensure quality of services delivered to homeowners. A detailed inspection program will be provided to validate all steps in the process and your family's satisfaction. EECO Homes will inspect your house for correct installation even if you do the work in your home yourself.

Participation Fees

There is no charge for families to participate in EECO Homes. We do request however that each family that receives services make a $100 "Good Faith Deposit" toward energy efficiency work in their home. This money will be applied directly to the purchase of energy efficiency measures or products. If you install your own energy efficiency measures at your home your deposit will be refunded after we inspect your work.
